We have an excellent opportunity for an entry level Associate Sales Representative. This entry level sales position is responsible for learning the company's product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, target markets and competitive advantages to effectively communicate product features, benefits and value propositions. This position includes a combination of customer-facing sales activities and administrative responsibilities supporting the PEF Sales department as well as developing new business opportunities. This position is based on site at the PEF Division in Front Royal, VA and requires ability to travel 25-50% of the time depending on customer and business needs.

Essential Duties:
  • Manages the day-to-day sales and marketing operations within assigned area or product line(s). Meets and/or exceeds assigned sales targets by providing solid customer service to existing customers and developing new markets for existing and new products in industrial, packaging, flooring, automotive distribution and other markets.

  • Develop a high degree of technical product knowledge and work with existing and potential customers to develop solutions that expand the use of our products while strengthening the business relationship. Develops and maintains professional relationships with customer base, ensuring a high level of customer service. Seeks to become a business partner offering technical advice and assistance as required.

  • Monitors sales trends advising management of opportunities and challenges in a timely manner. Recommends the initiation of sales strategies that enhance market share and meet/exceed objectives. Works with product development and marketing personnel on product life-cycle issues, customer needs for new products and other related issues to better position TPA as a single source provider.

  • Works directly with engineering, product development, technical service, manufacturing, quality and customer service personnel to resolve customer service matters and strengthen customer relationships.

  • Assist with preparation of quotations, commercial proposals, product samples, technical presentations, sales reports, meeting summaries, pipeline updates, forecasts and other sales-related activities.

  • Assist with departmental forecasting, budgeting, expense tracking, invoice review, travel arrangements, expense reports and trade-show administration. Provide back-up administrative and customer support within Sales department as needed.

  • Monitors competitors' activities, product introductions, pricing strategies, etc. and works with internal departments to address concerns/needs. Assists sales team at trade shows, product introductions, coordinate customer and prospective customer visits to Front Royal site and other similar events.

  • Maintain accurate and timely customer contact, account, activity and opportunity information in Salesforce and other company systems.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical knowledge and demonstrated sales skills in the plastics/chemical arena preferred.
  • Strong communications skills - oral, written and presentation
  • Ability to close sales and handle difficult customer relations situations.
  • Excellent time management skills/organizational and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in using CRM software, particularly Salesforce, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional business relationships and communicate effectively with customers, internal team and other departments.
  • Must be able to work effectively independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Requires the ability to travel 25-50% of the time. If not traveling, this person will be required to work on site at the PEF Division.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Business, Marketing or another related technical or business discipline required.
  • 0-2 years' experience required with approximately one year of sales, business development, customer service, administrative support, internship or other relevant professional experience preferred. Prior experience with manufacturing, industrial products, packaging, automotive products or sales administration highly preferred.
