Principal Associate, Checking Strategy & Insights Project Manager | Retail Bank

This is an exciting opportunity for a project management professional to join the Capital One Checking Strategy and Bank Insights team. As a Principal Associate project manager on the team, you will work with cross-functional partners in the checking business, Retail Bank and partner LOBs to deliver on ambitious goals. This role is designed for someone who is excited to take on important responsibility from day one and drive strategic thinking on new ways of working and collaborating.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage recurring business reporting routines, including: coordinating the compilation and monthly and quarterly business results to senior executives using standard structures but also looking to modernize processes and dashboards

  • Lead and manage recurring cross-team operations, including: cross-team leadership routines, and data management standards and processes

  • Stand up new strategic, cross-functional processes, including: project management and collaboration methods to enable cross-team product policy, customer engagement, and business initiatives

General responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage complex projects and programs in a dynamic, complex environment

  • Design, develop, and manage project plans to meet changing requirements

  • Ensure projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time

  • Maintain excellent attention to detail and ability to be organized, self-managing to keep multiple projects or programs on track and problem solve in real-time, as needed

  • Exhibit strong communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage and inform outcomes

  • Show the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement change within their scope

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of Program or Project Management experience

  • At least 3 years of Agile delivery experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban or SAFe methodologies

  • At least 2 years of Relationship management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters / MBA degree

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • 5+ years of Program or Project Management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager


New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Project Manager










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
