MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Wireless Engineer supporting our customer in Wiesbaden, Germany. Your work will directly support the mission of United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREURAF). At GDIT, you will contribute to challenging wireless projects, strengthen your technical skills, and grow your career.

This role supports wireless project design, installation, and O&M. The engineer contributes to wireless architecture planning, participates in collaboration meetings, and works with internal teams and vendors. Responsibilities include designing wireless networks aligned with DoD and industry standards, selecting hardware, preparing ROMs/LOMs, supporting accreditation, and ensuring network defense.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Support logistics of operations including consumables, installation equipment, and crossborder equipment movement.

  • Create high and lowlevel diagrams for records, installations, and accreditations covering office and warehouse designs.

  • Perform physical installation of wireless systems, including mounting access points and running/terminating cable. Use tools such as drills, ladders, and lifts as required.

  • Configure wireless access points via controllers, including policies and tags. Provide layer 2/3 guidance to administrators.

  • Work with Architects and Engineers to define, deploy, and maintain wireless architecture and supporting network components.

  • Use Ekahau AI Pro to plan, validate, and assess wireless deployments.

  • Assist the government in reviewing wireless designs for compliance with STIGs and DISA requirements, ensuring alignment with APLapproved products.

  • Postinstallation, configure and manage wireless capabilities including CACenabled authentication, STIG application, security compliance, and FIPS requirements.

  • Provide technical training, documentation, and support to the customer.

  • Proactively manage wireless controllers, switches, and access points to ensure availability. Conduct engineering analysis, issue resolution, and rootcause documentation.

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMCS) and provide touchlabor support as needed.

  • Bonus desired skills/knowledge: Ekahau, JunOS, Ansible, ISE, Spectrum, Catalyst Center, Cisco Unified Call Manager.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelors degree or related IT degree with 58 years of network engineering experience (additional experience may substitute for degree).

  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant military/government network installation and systems/network administration.

  • Technical skills: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining wireless networks; understanding wireless security; experience with controllers, APs, and L2/L3 networking.

  • Security clearance level: Secret SSBI with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

  • US citizenship required.

  • Certifications: CCNA minimum; DoD 8570 certification such as Security+ CE.

  • Travel: Up to 75%.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods on uneven terrain.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Tolerance for outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and weather. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work on platforms.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, or reach.

  • Ability to work with power tools.

  • Ability to navigate around field equipment and maintain situational awareness.

  • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.

  • Work may occur in remote locations with minimal infrastructure. Schedules may include irregular hours, extended shifts, or oncall duties.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
