Job description

SUMMER PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
Program Dates:  June 24, 2026 to  July 31, 2026; Must be able to commit to the entire program

Hours:  Weekly hours to be determined. Must complete mandatory pre-program staff training
Job Duties/Descriptions:

  1. Supports a variety of activities ranging from Art, Physical Education, Gardening, Science, Reading, Math, etc.
  2. Plan and execute lesson plans and projects and record progress observations.
  3. Able to communicate well and work cooperatively with colleagues.
  4. Able to problem solve quickly.
  5. Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the summer programs and the Danbury Board of Education.
  6. Attend staff meetings and program professional development activities.
  7. Keep students supervised and safe at all times.
  8. Must be willing to take leadership responsibilities in the classroom.
  9. Able to ride on a school bus and work in a farm environment.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma, GED or higher
  2. Experience working in summer programs, CYO or other student groups.
  3. Desirable to be certified in First Aid and CPR. 

Reports to: Program Assistant and Program Manager.
Rate:  $18.00 hourly
