Job Description

Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean providesoperational leadership for the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School ofBusiness-an AACSB-accredited business school comprisingundergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, three Centers, anda Banking Academy that serve over 1,800 students.

Specifically, the Associate Dean leads academic operations,accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives while workingcollaboratively with division chairs, program directors, faculty,and staff to ensure that strategic priorities are effectivelyimplemented and sustained over time. The successful candidate willpossess exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and ademonstrated ability to build organizational systems, coordinatecomplex multi-stakeholder initiatives, and consistently delivermeasurable results in an academic environment.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of Schoolinitiatives to ensure timely execution and alignment with Schoolpriorities.
  • Develop organizational systems and operational processes thatimprove efficiency, accountability, communication, and long-termorganizational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent projects involving faculty,staff, administrators, and external stakeholders while maintainingaccountability and established timelines.
  • Proactively identify and remove implementation barriers whiledeveloping practical solutions to emerging operationalchallenges.
Accreditation Leadership
  • Lead and coordinate all AACSB accreditation activities,including assurance of learning and preparation for ContinuousImprovement Reviews.
  • Interpret accreditation standards and translate them intosustainable organizational systems and continuous improvementpractices.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve accreditationdashboards, reporting systems, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Monitor progress toward accreditation milestones, evaluateorganizational performance, and ensure continued compliance andcontinuous improvement.
Organizational Leadership
  • Provide guidance related to accreditation, assessment, academicpolicies, and operational processes to support consistentimplementation across the School.
  • Build productive working relationships among division chairs,program directors, faculty, staff, students, university leadership,and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative culture emphasizing sharedresponsibility, accountability, continuous improvement, and serviceexcellence.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, development, and evaluationprocesses while supporting other administrative responsibilitiesassigned by the Dean.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
  • Terminal degree in Business Administration or a closely relateddiscipline appropriate for a tenured appointment within one of theacademic programs offered by the Sanchez School.
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting accreditation,assessment, institutional effectiveness, continuous improvement,academic administration, or closely related academic qualityprocesses.
  • Record of scholarly achievement consistent with appointment asa tenured associate professor or professor within the SanchezSchool.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Implementing complex organizational initiatives involvingmultiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and firmdeadlines.
  • Developing organizational systems, workflows, or accountabilityprocesses that improved operational effectiveness or organizationalperformance.
  • Leading AACSB accreditation activities, including assurance oflearning, strategic planning, Continuous Improvement Reviews, orrelated accreditation processes.
  • Serving as an associate dean, assistant dean, department chair,program director, or in a comparable academic leadership role.
Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
  • AACSB accreditation standards and continuous improvementprocesses.
