Position Summary
Core Housekeeping Responsibilities
Unlike heavy-duty cleaners, a light duty housekeeper focuses strictly on routine surface tidying and daily maintenance to ensure resident safety and comfort.
- Surface Care: Dusting furniture, wiping countertops, and sanitizing high-touch areas like doorknobs and handrails.
- Floor Maintenance: Sweeping, light mopping, and vacuuming rugs or carpets in immediate resident spaces.
- Waste Disposal: Emptying trash receptacles, replacing liners, and removing recycling from resident rooms.
- Restocking: Keeping bathrooms and common areas supplied with toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels.
Core Dietary Aide Responsibilities
In the dietary department, this role operates under a food service manager or chef to ensure residents receive the correct nutrition in a hygienic setting. Duties may include:
- Meal Prep Assistance: Washing produce, chopping ingredients, portioning desserts, and pouring beverages.
- Tray Assembly: Building meal trays according to specific printed dietary tickets to ensure accurate resident menus.
- Food Delivery: Loading food carts and safely delivering meal trays directly to dining tables or resident rooms.
- Dining Room Setup: Arranging tables with clean linens, silverware, and condiments before scheduled mealtimes.
- Kitchen Sanitation: Washing dishes, operating the industrial dishwasher, cleaning appliances, and sweeping kitchen floors.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent is typically required.
- Compliance: Strict adherence to food safety guidelines (like OSHA or ServSafe) and infection control protocols.
- Physical Ability: Capacity to stand for long periods, push heavy food carts, and lift up to 35โ50 pounds.
- Soft Skills: High levels of empathy, patience, strong time management, and a customer-service mindset.
