Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this role is to set, clear, and reset the dining room, as well as serve food and beverages to guests in dining room and banquet settings in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in the highest level of guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY:
  • Greet and provide great customer service to our residents and their guests upon arrival in the dining room.
  • Must possess the ability to safely assist guests in the dining room with seating and menu explanations.
  • The ability to consistently serve and clear in accordance with proper Ocotillo standards.
  • Must acquire all necessary menu comprehension, food and beverage knowledge and abide by all service standards.
  • Must be attentive to the special needs of residents and their guests.
  • Must acquire the knowledge of all Ocotillo appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
  • Display the ability to effectively and accurately use the dining room POS system.
  • The ability to perform dining room set up and breakdown side work responsibilities including rotating dish night responsibilities, cleaning menu jackets, and other tasks.
  • Must perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Manager, including willingness to learn room-service delivery.
  • Must show a willingness and flexibility to work catering and special event functions.
  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting.
  • Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments.
  • Serve guests with beverages, breads, and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary, or if requested.
  • Transport all dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Food Handlers certification.
  • One (1) year previous server experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to comprehend and respond to basic guest requests.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:
  • Stand for prolong period
  • Lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
