Job description

Assistant Project Manager - Ground-Up Multifamily & Commercial Projects

East Memphis, TN (Onsite | Local Travel to projects in greater Memphis area)

Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity


A stable, family-owned multifamily and commercial construction company in Memphis (east side, near Germantown) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large ground-up projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and gain exposure to multiple active projects while working alongside experienced project leaders.


What You'll Do

  • Support Project Managers in overseeing large ground-up construction projects from kickoff through completion
  • Assist with managing multiple active projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate with superintendents to maintain schedules and keep projects on track
  • Process submittals and review shop drawings
  • Communicate with subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
  • Conduct site visits approximately twice per week to monitor progress
  • Track long lead items and help manage procurement timelines
  • Work primarily from a private office at the home office
  • Utilize Procore for project management and documentation
  • Assist with scheduling using Primavera P3 and/or Microsoft Project


What You Bring

  • 2+ years of Assistant Project Manager experience with a GC construction company
  • Experience supporting ground-up commercial or multifamily construction projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and project documentation
  • Familiarity with Procore and scheduling software is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
  • Exposure to civil work, concrete, wood or steel framing, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems is highly desirable


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80K-$90K DOE
  • Bonus: Up to 25% of annual salary
