Job description

Project Management Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development of new programs from concept through customer approval
  • Lead small to mid-scale projects with low to moderate complexity (i.e. - component based projects, prototypes, etc.) through providing leadership and direction to cross-functional support resources
  • Maintain program organization through effectively and consistently communicating the status of critical project milestones and action items to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet the following objectives at time of project closure (taking into account customer driven scope changes):
    • Completion of project on or before established target date
    • NRE within quoted budget
    • Part costs for all elements of project at or below quoted costs
    • Predictable manufacturing status
  • Mitigate challenges that may negatively impact development (short term) and/or production (long term) in the areas of cost, quality or delivery
  • Effectively collaborate with Business Continuity Managers on project activity and strategy
  • Identify and capitalize on cost savings opportunities (NRE and/or part cost) throughout project
  • Provide Estimating staff with support and information in completing project related quotations as requested
  • Provide support to Purchasing and Supplier Quality for all procured materials, components and outsourced processes related to projects

Engineering Support Responsibilities:
  • Support Program Manager on the development activities for complex programs
  • Oversee the development of robust manufacturing processes using data analysis and statistical methods
  • Investigate and address new challenges using a systematic, logical progression problem solving approach
  • Perform DOE analysis as needed to ensure factors for process variation have been accounted for
  • Assist with design for manufacturability internally and with customers
  • Work with manufacturing during product/process development to ensure a successful transition to production
  • Establish effective and efficient manufacturing plans, including work instructions, inspection plans
  • Participate in the creation and execution of qualification and validation protocols/plans
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and systems

Customer Relations Responsibilities:
  • Obtain customer approval of developed processes
  • Participate in and/or lead customers through the resolution of technical related questions or issues
  • Establish, build, and maintain positive relationship with customers
  • Effectively manage and communicate scope changes of projects in a timely fashion

General Responsibilities:
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, and coworkers in a productive and professional manner
  • Responsibility to protect Donatelle confidential information and Intellectual Property
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned
  • Support other positions on the engineering teams as needed including Development Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers

Preferred Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • 4 Year Engineering Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering)
  • 2+ years of experience in contract manufacturing within related industry

Other Qualifications and Desired Skills:
  • Experience with plastic tooling/processing, machining, secondary processes and assembly methods preferred
  • Experience in medical component/device manufacturing preferred
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Demonstrated experience in management of projects
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, 3D CAD Systems (Creo, Solid Works) Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge and application of statistics and SPC
  • Comprehensive knowledge of blue print reading and GD&T
  • Technical knowledge, analytical expertise and attention to detail
  • Ability to ensure work is accurate and completed within a timely manner
  • Ability to resolve manufacturing problems independently
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with multiple changing priorities
  • Position requires you have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Pay:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with 2+ years injection molding experience, preferably in contract manufacturing.
  • Medical device industry and validation experience is preferred.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret production reports, financial reports and technical information documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
  • Ability to write and professionally present presentations to large and small audiences
  • Ability to effectively present information in a clear and concise manner to top management or personnel groups
  • Possess strong computer, mathematical, reading, writing skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information, electronic data, drawings and data in an efficient manner
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
