Construction Project Engineer
Apple Valley, MN | Direct Hire | $90k-$115k

Konik is partnering with a south-metro construction consulting firm recognized as a Best Places to Work, known for its “do the right thing” culture and high-trust project environments. They deliver complex, long-term projects across commercial, higher ed, K-12, and government sectors, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and client relationships.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to support projects from early planning through closeout, playing a key role in coordination, documentation, and communication across project teams.

Construction Project Engineer Responsibilities

  • Support the oversight and coordination of multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout and warranty.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules (Pre-Con, Procurement, Construction, Close-out); update weekly and use look-ahead schedules to anticipate needs.
  • Manage all project document control within Procore, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and progress tracking.
  • Lead or support OAC, subcontractor, and pre-installation meetings; prepare agendas, document discussions, and distribute minutes within required timelines.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the design team and field personnel, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Assist with preconstruction activities, including estimating, procurement planning, and scope review.
  • Anticipate client needs and maintain proactive, consistent communication with all project stakeholders.

Construction Project Engineer Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Project Engineer: 3+ years of experience in construction or similar role.
  • Senior Project Engineer: 4+ years of progressive experience supporting field and project management teams.
  • Experience with Procore preferred; strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, industry engagement, and professional development.
