Job Description:
A Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager will act as the Superintendent’s “Right Hand” by assisting them with several aspects of Thompson’s excavation, earthmoving, and dirt work projects.
Additional Duties Include:
  • Performing various administrative tasks throughout the course of projects
  • Acting as on-site liaison between field personnel and office support staff
  • Managing project documentation (certificates, waivers, warranties, bids, etc.)
  • Collaborating with general contractors, developers and property owners
  • Preparing and analyzing bid packages from contractors and subcontractors
  • Assisting with general labor force training, evaluations, and orientations
  • Evaluating site conditions to identify safety hazards and logistical challenges
  • Drafting, pricing, and processing change orders and potential scope changes
  • Attending post-project evaluations to identify “lessons learned” for the future
Experience, Education amp; Requirements:
  • Proven Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager experience in excavation
  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant during construction projects
  • Strong communication, analytical and computer skills (MS Office amp; Bluebeam)
  • Must be certified in both OSHA 10 and CPR amp; First Aid (will train, if necessary)
  • Must possess a Valid DL and be able to drive company vehicle(s), if needed
