Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Engineer in determining project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all the customer's facilities requirements.
  • Survey and appraise building systems (including HVAC and Building Automation Systems).
  • Develop equipment specifications and construction drawings and documents to ensure quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
  • Run load calculation program and produce reports to determine system sizing.
  • Assist Project Engineer in preparing solutions design, scope, proposals, and presentations.
  • Assist Project Engineer in managing project submittal review and approval to help maintain project scope and schedule.
  • Assist Project Engineer reviewing Request For Proposals (RFP).
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Support engineering evaluation process in project opportunities as identified individually or as an operational team member.
  • Support project engineering design needs.
  • Assist Project Engineer in providing on-site engineering support for the project team to meet design intent, system requirements, and project milestones.
  • Assist in preparation of MEP assessments and prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Coordinate project-specific engineering.
  • Assist Pre-Fabrication and Sheet Metal shop with drawings for ductwork and spool pieces.
  • Assist in Drafting and BIM Modeling.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining company technical standards.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS or another degree in a related field (construction management, engineering, etc.) or equivalent job experience and certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to understanding HVAC systems and controls and basic HVAC principles, concepts, and perform calculations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office-related products.
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing is required.
  • An appointment to this position may require a background investigation.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • On path to attain EI certification.
  • Knowledge and general understanding of Autodesk Products specifically Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an open office environment with conditioned air and bright lights.
