Job description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Reports To:
      • Practice Manager

    • Summary:
      • Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, FMLA, Prior Authorizations, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by physician.

      • Must be able to work non-standard work hours.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Education
      • Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assisting or nursing school.
    • Experience
      • Six months to one year related experience
    • Computer Skills
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
      • Must exhibit basic computer knowledge
    • Certificates & Licenses
      • Certified medical assistant preferred or a nurse registered in the State of Indiana.
    • Other Requirements
      • May take up to 6 months to become proficient in this position. This position requires constant standing and walking, frequent sitting, ability to constantly use hands and fingers, ability to occasionally reach above shoulder and frequently bend.  Position requires ability to lift/carry 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, as well as frequently push/pull up to 25 pounds.
