Job Summary:
Regular NUA Faculty work under the direction of the Director of Nursing Education Practices and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching
Initial and ongoing planning and delivery of appropriate classroom, laboratory, and clinical curriculum.
Maintains curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; reviews and updates course outlines, textbooks, and nursing courses; assists with the preparation of course proposals, curriculum updates and the construction of degree/certificate programs.
Applies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; implements changes as necessary to maintains a successful CNA certificate program; integrates knowledge of industry and serves on college committees as assigned needs and professional training to continuously improve program quality.
Manages and teaches assigned nursing courses and maintains written instructional standards; facilitates instruction using alternative delivery methods as needed; informs students in writing of instructional standards; posts and maintains weekly office hours; participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes; establishes, maintains, and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.

Record Keeping and Instructional Management
Keep scheduled office hours, including providing regular student office hours.
Meets classes as scheduled for prescribed time.ย
Submits required reports and documents.

Promoting Division/College Quality of Instructionย
Assist, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.
Assist with curriculum review, revision, development and implementation within the department.
Assist in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi.
Assist in textbook selection and adoption.
Assist with student advising and student registration.
Maintain a program advisory committee, as appropriate.
Participate in professional development activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with program reviews as required by appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA.
Professional Contributionsย
Serve on college discipline, department, and community committees and task forces on behalf of the college.
Assist with Divisional activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.
Assist with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the dean, the Vice President for Instructional Services and/or the College President.ย
Minimum Qualifications:
Completed associate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Current Colorado RN license in good standing without restrictions.
Two years of clinical nursing experience in caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age, of which at least one year must be in the provision of services in a long- term care facility.
Successfully completed a course in teaching adults, documented experience teaching adults or one year experience in managing nurse aides.
Possess or be eligible to obtain a Colorado Career & Technical Education Teaching Credential Colorado State Credentialing.
Demonstrated ability to work with underrepresented populations in successful efforts to close the achievement gap.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completed bachelorโs degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Community college or hospital teaching experience.
Experience in program assessment.
Experience with program accreditation.
