FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs
SALARY RANGE: $100K-$107K
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Clinical/Didactic Education:
ยท Precepts and monitors assigned student clinicians and residents in the Illinois Eye Institute
ยท Classroom and laboratory teaching as assigned by the Dean/Vice President of Academic Affairs
Patient Care:
ยท Delivers appropriate patient care and management according to clinical privileges granted by the Professional Standards Board
ยท Completes documentation and correspondence related to patient medical record in a timely manner
Scholarly Activity:
ยท Engages in activities to develop expertise as a scholar and educator
ยท Engages in activities to develop expertise as a clinical preceptor
ยท Engages in activities to develop expertise in patient care
ยท Develops and presents at professional meetings and conferences on a regular basis
ยท Contributes to the professional literature on a regular basis
ยท Attends continuing education to maintain standard of care and clinical privileges
Service Administration:
ยท Contributes to the Collegeโs strategic initiatives through committee participation and other related activities
ยท Involvement in professional activities on a local and national level
ยท Attends scheduled faculty, service, and department meetings
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
ยท Possesses a Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE-accredited institution and is licensed or licensed eligible to practice in Illinois
ยท Residency training in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at an ACOE-accredited institution or five years equivalent experience is preferred
ยท Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required
ยท Successful credentialing through IEI Professional Standards Board

ยท Effective communication skills
ยท Attendance must be in accordance with College Policy and the IEI operating calendar
ยท Ability to meet deadlines regardless of circumstances or pressures
