Assistant Cook

Location: Osceola, MO, 64776

Job Summary

The Assistant Cook will support the Head Cook in various kitchen operations including food storage, preparation, and service. This role also involves maintaining kitchen sanitation, ensuring proper food portioning, and assisting with inventory management. The Assistant Cook will help pre-prepare menu items and ensure all foodservice safety and sanitation standards are met. Additionally, this position includes custodial responsibilities to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Cook with storage, preparation, and service of food items.
  • Maintain sanitation of the general kitchen area in compliance with health codes.
  • Ensure correct portioning of food items during preparation and packaging.
  • Maintain appropriate temperature and portion control for items packaged for home meal delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining the daily perpetual inventory system.
  • Pre-prepare menu items as needed for upcoming menus.
  • Ensure all food quality standards are consistently met.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local foodservice safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Promote the Care Connection mission to empower healthy aging experiences.
  • Custodial Duties:
    • Perform routine cleaning of all facility areas including floors, walls, windows, and furnishings.

Qualifications
