Application Support Lead

Summary:

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Lead a group of 20 offshore and onshore developers to deliver support functions for multiple trading, risk and credits systems. Able to work with outsourcing partners onshore and offshore team members, business contacts and other IT teams.

Tasks for this position are: architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, working with onshore/offshore coordinators to assign work to team members, assessing estimates, reviewing documentation, streamlining processes, setting standards, and contributing to ITSM processes by attending release planning meetings, CAB and Go/No Go meetings.

Must ensure the architecture of application software, data, system software, hardware, and the physical network complies with client's architecture standards.

Plays a leadership role in giving work direction to onshore/offshore resources. Helps design, implement and monitor work processes. Interviews and evaluates candidates for run organization.

Plays a leadership role in understanding, selecting, implementing, and supporting "DevOps" and Agile\Scrum processes and tools across the development lifecycle

Highly collaborative environment. Plays a role in establishing vision, strategies, business plan, system/application architecture, business processes, and standard/policies for all Trading applications. Contributes in shaping our Trading Systems and architecture decisions, design, priorities, and strategic decisions.

Able to work with outsourcing partners onshore and offshore team members, business contacts, and other IT teams.

Oversee development done by onshore and offshore partners, but could require the individual to produce POCs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required in Management Information systems or Computer Science, or similar field or equivalent experience

Must have 10+ years developing applications using object oriented technologies such as .NET.

Good knowledge of the trading business along with a solid understanding of the systems and processes necessary to support the business. Good overall knowledge of the trading lifecycle from trade inception to settlement.

Knowledgeable about client's integration (BizTalk) and ETRM (RightAngle) solutions and how they fit within a trading organization's application architecture.

Knowledge of Credit, Commodities Risk Management, and Risk Analytics applications would be helpful.

Application Development Lifecycle Experience.

Must have good understanding of database structures and stored procedures and able to write and understand complex database queries. Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle, TFS, MS Video Studio, SOA and web services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Existing experience with a trading environment is highly desirable.

Existing experience with Continuous Integration/Build, Automated Testing, Automated Deployment, and Configuration Management tools and processes is highly desirable.

Existing experience with Agile\SCRUM methodologies and its application to a development team
