Job description

Title: Application Support Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 6 months, possible extensions
Compensation: $25-28/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking an Application Support Engineer to support a customer-facing application. This role focuses on managing support tickets, troubleshooting application issues, and owning problems through resolution. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of programming, can read and make minor updates to code, and takes strong ownership of their work.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in application or production support
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts
  • Experience with Python and Java
  • Ability to read and understand existing code and make small changes
  • Database experience (any database), including basic querying or data updates
  • Experience working with ticketing systems
  • Strong communication skills with customers

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day application support and customer-reported issues
  • Own support tickets from intake to resolution
  • Investigate issues by reviewing application behavior, code, and data
  • Identify required database or application changes to resolve requests
  • Write and execute small code updates or scripts
  • Communicate clearly with customers on issue status and resolution
  • Document resolutions and maintain run tickets
  • Identify repeat issues and help drive basic automation

Nice to Have
  • AWS experience is a plus, but not required
