Job description

The Cynthiana Democrat has an immediate opening for an Outside Advertising Sales Representative. This position will be responsible for growing existing accounts and securing new accounts for the weekly publication (3,885 circulation) and Harrison Shopper while building long-term businesses relationships within the Cynthiana, Georgetown, Frankfort and Lexington, Ky. business communities. Cynthiana is about 30 miles north of Lexington and 60 miles south of Cincinnati. The Cynthiana Democrat can also be found online at www.cynthianademocrat.com.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in sales preferred
  • Degree in marketing or advertising a plus, but not a requirement
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Be knowledgeable about advertising and marketing as it relates to the newspaper business
  • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstration of high energy level and self-motivation
  • Demonstration of team-oriented behavior
  • Desire to advance and willingness to accept expanding, sometimes changing, responsibilities, duties and accountability
  • Above average skills in language, math, reasoning ability and customer service
  • Ability to understand and live with deadline driven business
  • Must have reliable transportation , automobile insurance and cell phone

  • Travel throughout assigned territory to service existing account list and develop new customers
