How can I become an advertising manager?

Career: Advertising Manager

Most advertising managers hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism or advertising and start out as buyers, public relations specialists, purchasing agents, or sales representatives. Education typically includes courses in consumer behavior, sales, marketing, photography, market research, art history, visual arts, technology, and communication methods. Ad managers can also benefit from classes in statistics, finance, mathematics, business law, accounting, economics, and management. Working in a relevant internship while in school is strongly recommended, as is professional experience in marketing, sales, promotions, and advertising.
