Job description


SUMMARY: The PBX Operator is responsible for answering all incoming calls made through the main switchboard, routes routine and emergency calls or pages through internal and external equipment, and implements all emergency codes, per Hospital policy. Operates TDD, AT&T language line and alpha paging systems. Completes required paperwork to maintain an accurate in-house census. Greets and directs all patients, visitors and physicians in a courteous and professional manner. This position reports to the Admitting Manager. The PBX Operator interacts with the following age groups: Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months experience preferred
  • Required License/ Certifications: BLS (within 90 days of hire); ABM/MAB/CPI certificate within (90 days upon hire) annual thereafter
