Hours: 8-hour - 8:00am to 4:00pm (Some weekends will be required)
Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS
We are seeking an Admitting Manager, sometimes referred to as a Hospital Registration Manager or Patient Access Manager. Our Admitting Manager ensures the efficient operation of the admissions department, responsible for overseeing the daily activities related to patient admissions, registration, and insurance verification. The Admitting Manager ensures a seamless and patient-friendly experience, who will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize processes, improve patient satisfaction, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
*** An effective leader, the Admitting Manager utilizes strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail to manage and mentor a team, driving excellence in customer service and operational performance.***
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the admissions department, ensuring an efficient workflow and timely processing of all patient admissions
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-admission procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth intake processes
  • Work closely with clinical staff to facilitate seamless patient transitions, admissions, and discharge coordination, promoting effective communication across teams
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate admissions staff, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and excellent patient service
  • Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures to improve department efficiency, compliance, and overall patient satisfaction
  • Monitor and analyze key admission metrics and trends, preparing detailed reports for senior management to support data-driven strategic planning
  • Proactively address and resolve patient concerns, billing issues, and other challenges to ensure a positive experience and maintain patient trust

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
  • Bachelors' degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred.
  • Three to Five years experience as a supervisor/ manager in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws
  • Strong organizational skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administrations
  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Services experience required
