Responsibilities
  • The Administrative Assistant is responsible for processing correspondence for the department and to schedule meetings for the physicians and other administrative staff.
  • The Administrative Assistant acts independently to implement, perform, and oversee functions that provide administrative support to various departments.
  • Establishes a cooperative working relationship with staff, physicians and administration to facilitate timely and high quality completion of work.
  • Creates a positive office image by responding professionally to all patients, staff and other customers.
  • Performs and manages basic office operations and works with the staff and physicians to facilitate the daily flow of the practice. Responsibilities may also include greeting, registering and scheduling patients in the computer system as well as assisting the surgical coordinator with the scheduling of surgical patients when needed.

Requirements
  • Education and Work Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience as an administrative assistant or comparable qualifications
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Meditech (if applicable to position)
    • Epic (if applicable to position)
    • Performance Manager/NetLearning
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
    • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Other Requirements:
    • May be required to travel to satellite offices.
    • Must be able to travel to other locations as directed by management.
