Position Summary

The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operations of the Accounting Department, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable while developing a thorough understanding of every accounting function within the department. This position serves as both a leader and a working member of the team, ensuring operational continuity, cross-training, and collaboration across all accounting responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring others, building relationships, solving problems, and creating an environment where people can succeed.


Accounting Operations

·         Manage Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and vendors are paid timely.

·         Reconcile corporate credit card statements and investigate discrepancies.

·         Assist with month-end accounting processes and financial reporting.

·         Prepare and file sales tax returns.

·         Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.

·         Support the CFO with accounting projects and operational initiatives.


Team Leadership & Cross-Training

·         Learn every accounting position within the department to provide support, backup coverage, and operational continuity.

·         Cross-train with team members to understand Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Reporting, and other accounting functions.

·         Help develop standardized procedures and improve department efficiency.

·         Coach and support team members while fostering accountability and collaboration.

·         Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the department.


What We’re Looking For

·         Experience in Accounts Payable, accounting, bookkeeping, or office management.

·         Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

·         Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

·         Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

·         Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

·         Ability to learn multiple accounting functions and support the entire department.

·         Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.

·         Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
