Accounting Assistant

Position Summary:

GreatHorse/Sonny's Place is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a high level of accuracy, and can effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Your Role:

  • Process full cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice coding, general ledger distribution, entry into the ERP systems, and preparation of weekly check runs
  • Support Accounts Receivable functions as needed
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records for posting to the general ledger
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems, both digital and physical
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, clients, and internal team members to resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Maintains reasonable, regular attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapt to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

Your Skills:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered
  • 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support experience preferred
  • Basic Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
