Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our construction finance team. This role is designed for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting operations, including accounts payable, expense tracking, vendor management, and general finance administration. The Accounting Intern will work closely with the accounting team to support day-to-day functions and learn core accounting processes in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment posting, and expense tracking.

- Support processing of employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.

- Help maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and documentation.

- Assist with vendor communications and respond to basic inquiries regarding billing and payment status.

- Support bank and account reconciliations under supervision.

- Help organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial documents.

- Assist the accounting team with monthly closing activities and reporting tasks.

- Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing requested documentation.

- Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, and document organization.

- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

- Prior internship, coursework, or part-time experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred but not required.
