The Neuroscience Major in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Manager, Academic Program Services to support the Neuroscience Undergraduate Program.
The Manager, Academic Program Services evaluates the effectiveness of specified programs and recommends changes as needed; in conjunction with the Program Director, aids in the development, direction, and implementation of program assessment; evaluates the effectiveness of curriculum plans and suggests and implements changes as needed; chairs the Undergraduate Studies Committee and serves on relevant college and intra-university committees for curriculum and student success; identifies and addresses the varying academic and curricular needs of the program; provides oversight and develops academic services provided by the advising office; manages, hires, and trains advising and student staff; evaluates curricular and program petitions; verifies graduation applications; provides supervision and implementation of the Pre-Major program and major and minor specializations; oversees transfer credit evaluation and articulation agreements.
The Manager, Academic Program Services develops marketing materials and works with the Program Director to manage the program budget; develops and directs comprehensive academic, social enrichment, faculty-student engagement, and alumni-oriented programming for students; supervises and plans orientations; develops and implements student recruitment and retention programs and procedures; acts as a liaison with professional organizations in support of recruitment and retention efforts.
Develops protocols and tracks program data; oversees survey course offerings and serves as instructor for the Neuroscience undergraduate survey course as needed to support program and instructional needs; maintains current information and resources, including curriculum sheets, promotional materials, the program website, and professional and social media.
Minimum Education Required
Master's Level Degree with a Major in Neuroscience, Psychology, or closely related field
Additional Education Desired
Doctoral Degree with a Major in Neuroscience, Psychology, or closely related field
Required Qualifications
- Five years of relevant experience in higher education, including experience in academic program administration, student services, advising, teaching, research administration, or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and evaluating professional staff.
- Experience developing, implementing, and assessing academic programs, student success initiatives, or curricular support services.
- Experience collaborating with faculty, academic leadership, and university stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing undergraduate academic programs.
- Experience supervising academic advisors or other student-facing professional staff.
- Knowledge of neuroscience, psychology, or related STEM disciplines.
- Experience with curriculum administration, degree audits, graduation cerExperience with student recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives.
- Experience using student information systems and institutional data to support assessment and decision-making.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this job profile is $64,900.00- $84,850.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
