Job description

Warehouse and Shipping Coordinator

Position Description:

The Warehouse and Shipping Coordinator guides overall operations in the Warehouse. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving of finishing and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records.  The position is a Position Level (PL) 5.

Reporting:

The position reports to the Warehouse Manager  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate best practices in the area of safety, health, and housekeeping of the department. 
  • Coordinate daily equipment maintenance.
  • Work with area managers to plan, schedule, and execute production and maintenance activities
  • Work with the department manager to execute the policies and goals of the department
  • Work with paper machine, finishing, and customer service team members to meet customer order requirement and to ensure smooth operations between the groups. Cross-train in other disciplines. Learn all customer service jobs.
  • Setup layout & space management; procedures such as SOP, 5s.
  • Manage stock control and ensure inventory accuracy, including: storage, retrieval and timely delivery of goods; shipment loading & transferring; document recording and data entry into system.
  • Constantly plan out all warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives and set targets.
  • Create / implement plans to assist development and training of work force.
  • Implement cost reduction principle in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities.
  • Manage and minimize carrier delays and demurrage.
  • Manage the Returns and Diversions page.
  • Work with Logistics to keep costs to serve down. Best Mode of transportation.
  • Filing and Records keeping of shipping documents.
  • Generate daily customer service report.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Ability to act decisively
  • Excellent people engagement skills.  Ability to motivate workforce.
  • Patience and good judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive for results
  • Experienced warehouse and shipping background preferred but not required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required
  • Working knowledge of PPR Omega and willingness to learn and utilize and new MES system
  • Experience dealing with Carriers

Education and Qualification:

  • University degree in industrial engineering, business management, logistics, supply chain or process engineering preferred but not required.
