Parts & Inventory Manager
Location: San Diego, CA
Salary Range: $32.00
Full-Time: Monday- Friday 7am- 3:30 pm
Overview
Industrial Electric San Diego is seeking a hands-on, experienced Branch Parts & Inventory Manager to oversee all parts, purchasing, inventory, and warehouse operations supporting our commercial kitchen equipment service business. This role is critical to ensuring technicians have the right parts at the right time to service hot-side and cold-side equipment, minimizing customer downtime and delivering exceptional service.
In addition to managing branch parts operations, this position is responsible for driving high-performing direct parts sales by maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, providing exceptional service, and identifying opportunities to grow parts sales. The successful candidate will build long-term partnerships with customers while ensuring accurate inventory, efficient purchasing, and timely order fulfillment.
As the primary person responsible for all parts and warehouse functions at the branch, this position requires someone who is highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while remaining a strong team player. The successful candidate will take ownership of inventory accuracy, purchasing, warehouse operations, and vendor relationships while working closely with service technicians, dispatch, and company leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all branch parts operations, including purchasing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, returns, and warehouse organization.
  • Source and order parts for commercial cooking, refrigeration, and foodservice equipment to support scheduled service calls and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, replenishment, and inventory management best practices.
  • Coordinate closely with service technicians and dispatch to ensure parts are available and staged for daily service calls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing, timely deliveries, warranty processing, and efficient returns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse.
  • Continuously improve inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and operational processes.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to internal teams and external customers.
  • Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Experience in parts, purchasing, inventory, or warehouse management, preferably within commercial kitchen equipment, foodservice equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, or another service-based industry.
  • Working knowledge of hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment and replacement parts is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Team player who collaborates effectively with technicians, dispatch, vendors, and leadership.
  • Experience with inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
