Job description

Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining a proper inventory of parts.
Essential Functions
  • Order stock and non stock parts that are needed to repair tractors and trailers
  • Keep accurate inventory of parts and supplies for shop and tank wash
  • Controls inventory needed for forecasted needs
  • Check in part orders, tag, and stock parts
  • Send and receive shipments, unload semi deliveries, route and process office paper work
  • Order replacement parts and new install kits
  • Purchase, stock, and perform daily tire inventory
  • Keep on hand The Federal Highway Association (FHWA) inspection forms, decals, tank test decals, tank test date numbers.
  • Assists lead tech with review and completion of standard and vendor repair orders (stand in if lead tech is off)
  • Order and bill for parts to vendor repair facilities
  • Ensure accurate pricing and invoicing of orders
  • Keep SDS information current and accurate to match on hand products
  • Assist in transporting equipment to vendors for repair
  • Assists in building and yard maintenance by either performing needed repairs or coordinates outside vendors
  • Negotiates pricing with outside vendors
  • Monitors and processes warranty recoverable items

Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of class 8 tractors and trailers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and information
