Experience: 8 + years of poultry manufacturing 6 + years of leadership - preferably of large complex/facilities/crews
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Plant Manager III to lead operations at a large-scale poultry processing facility in Center, TX. This role has full responsibility for all plant functions, including production across three shifts, maintenance, safety, quality, sanitation, shipping and receiving, scheduling, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep poultry manufacturing experience and a proven ability to develop leadership teams in complex, unionized environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all functional areas of a poultry processing plant, ensuring efficient and compliant operations across multiple production shifts
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership and management teams, supporting a facility of approximately 1,200 employees
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including USDA and company standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and cost reduction efforts
  • Review operational performance, efficiency metrics, and monthly expense reports; identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead and execute capital improvement projects with appropriate approvals
  • Promote Total Quality Management (TQM) principles throughout the organization
  • Manage labor relations and lead effectively in a unionized environment
  • Support talent mapping, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality, safety, and operational issues

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of poultry manufacturing experience (required)
  • 6+ years of leadership experience in large, complex manufacturing facilities
  • Mandatory experience in a poultry kill facility; Tray Pack experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading teams in a union labor environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Travel required: 6-11 trips per year
