As a Manager, Parts Procurement, you will Lead the Global Parts Procurement Category team responsible for Seals, Plastics & Valves, ensuring the strategic sourcing and supply of spare parts supporting Valmet's Biomaterial Solutions and Services Business. Drive team performance, engagement, and capability development while executing category purchasing strategies and providing leadership, guidance, and expertise across designated categories and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop Parts Procurement performance for the category, ensuring spare parts availability, competitive costs, short lead times, and reliable delivery to support customer uptime and aftermarket growth.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team focused on operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive category purchasing management, strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and operational procurement to optimize total cost of ownership and service levels.

  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, focusing on quality, cost competitiveness, consolidation, flexibility, and supply security.

  • Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure business continuity and supply chain resilience.

  • Lead cost reduction, Design-to-Cost, Cost Competitive Country sourcing, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Support Sales, Service, Engineering, and Operations by ensuring high parts availability and responsive supply chain performance.

  • Execute supply chain strategies and improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives and performance targets.

  • Monitor and report key procurement and supply chain KPIs, including supplier performance, delivery precision, inventory, cost efficiency, and working capital.

  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, ERP utilization, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Improve Net Working Capital through inventory optimization, supplier collaboration, and enhanced planning processes.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and capacity to meet business demands while maintaining high service levels.

  • Represent the Parts category within Valmet's global procurement network, promoting alignment, best practices, and organizational development.

  • Collaborate across sourcing, engineering, operations, sales, service, logistics, quality, and finance to deliver strategic and operational objectives.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering.

  • Proven leadership experience (5+ years) within procurement, supply chain, or sourcing functions in a global and matrix-driven organization.

  • Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills, with a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated success in driving results across functions and regions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with the ability to make fact-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and supplier development.

  • Solid understanding of procurement, supply chain management, and category management principles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills are considered an advantage.

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and procurement tools; experience with Infor LN, Microsoft Power BI, and the Microsoft Office suite is an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
