Dematic is looking for a Director, Lifecycle Solutions & Services (LSS) Procurement to lead procurement efforts for the North America LSS business. This includes Spare Parts and Modifications & Upgrades (M&U) projects.
This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that improve profitability, increase material availability, reduce risk, and strengthen supplier accountability across the aftermarket business. Unlike traditional purchasing management roles, this position focuses on strategic sourcing, commercial leadership, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and organizational development rather than transactional procurement activities. The Director will lead a team of Spare Parts Procurement Specialists, Strategic Buyers, and Project Procurement Leads who secure spare parts lists from third-party partners, negotiate pricing, reduce total cost, and ensure material availability for Spare Parts and M&U projects.
The role acts as an essential business collaborator to LSS leadership, working closely with Spare Parts Operations, M&U Leadership, Category Management, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to promote profitable growth and outstanding customer outcomes.We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $153,000 - $210,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team supporting the Lifecycle Services (LSS) business, encouraging a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and complete sourcing strategies that improve profitability, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and customer outcomes across Spare Parts and Modifications & Upgrades businesses.

  • Lead supplier negotiations and strategic partnerships to secure favorable pricing, service levels, and long-term value while driving annual savings initiatives.

  • Coordinate the Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL) process, ensuring commercially optimized solutions, improved customer lifecycle value, and effective supplier engagement.

  • Serve as the procurement leader for Modifications & Upgrades projects, ensuring sourcing strategies support project schedules, margins, and customer commitments.

  • Build and implement supplier risk management programs that address availability, cost volatility, capacity constraints, obsolescence, quality, and business continuity risks.

  • Establish supplier performance metrics, lead supplier reviews, and drive corrective actions that improve quality, delivery, service, and cost performance.

  • Leverage analytics, market intelligence, and procurement data to identify savings opportunities, improve margins, and support strategic business decisions.

  • Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Category Management to align procurement priorities with business objectives.

  • Promote governance, ethical sourcing, operational excellence, Lean initiatives, and continuous advancement within procurement procedures and methods.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma are preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial leadership roles.

  • Over 5 years of experience managing procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain teams.

  • Proven success developing sourcing strategies, negotiating complex supplier agreements, and delivering measurable cost savings and business value.

  • Experience supporting aftermarket parts, industrial equipment, manufacturing, automation, capital equipment, or service-based organizations is preferred.

  • Expertise in supplier relationship management, supplier performance improvement, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Strong commercial competence with deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, total cost of ownership, and supply chain guidelines.

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to leverage data, important metrics, and market insights to drive informed business decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive collaborators, lead cross-functional initiatives, and achieve results within a matrixed organization.

  • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, communication, and organizational development abilities with a passion for nurturing high-performing teams.

  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% as needed.
