Job description

340B Analyst/Pharmacist

Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a 340B Analyst/Pharmacist to join our patient care team in delivering excellence in clinical care across our seven medical sites.

The Pharmacy 340B Coordinator acts as a subject matter expert and provides oversight to all 340B Program Covered Entities within Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH). Responsible for day-to-day compliant medication procurement, billing, and inventory management to ensure compliance standards are being upheld and that cost savings returns are being realized. Assists with implementation of and adherence to 340B related policies and procedures.

This role is responsible to act as a float pharmacist which will dispense medications, providing patient counseling, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

340B Program Responsibilities

  • Share expertise and assist with training, education, and communication to staff and Program participants regarding updates to 340B policies and procedures. Ensure training compliance for 340B.
  • Audit all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure compliance with 340B program requisites, including entity and patient qualifications and ensure consistent processes are followed across all (in-house, floor stock, and contract pharmacies).
  • Audit purchasing records to ensure compliance. Audit utilization and 340B purchasing records to ensure software and/or tools are functioning properly.
  • Assist with implementation of action plans to correct 340B compliance deficiencies, if indicated.
  • Participate in the development of quarterly and annual 340B participation reports documenting utilization, savings, and exceptions or discrepancies.
  • Audit of 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings as a result of formulary and 340B prime vendor program on a routine basis.
  • Order all supplies and maintain inventory with documentation of all medications in stock (floor stock).

Pharmacist Responsibilities (including float coverage)

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients.
  • Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and potential drug interactions.
  • Provide medication counseling, including proper use, side effects, and interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of prescriptions and controlled substances.
  • Address patient concerns and questions regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Support medication adherence programs and chronic disease management education.
  • Monitor for potential medication errors and implement safety measures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and recommend therapy alternatives when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy technicians and staff to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and proper medication storage.
  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Float between pharmacy locations as needed to provide staffing coverage and support operational needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active Florida Pharmacist license.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Two (2) years of pharmacist experience preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of 340B Drug Pricing Program experience in healthcare and/or with a healthcare provider strongly preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are given top consideration.
