Job description

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible to assist the Depot Manager with the efficient, cost effective, and safe operations of a light manufacturing facility. This position will maintain standard metrics to report daily and manage both performance and success of the facility.

Essential Duties:

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations, utilizing the principles of lean Manufacturing.
  • Review and understand long term volume fluctuations and match facility capacity to deliver volume requirements.
  • Utilizing LEAN resources, work to improve facility throughput and develop best in class production processes.
  • Ensure consistent communication with other departments in matters of planning and cost containment.
  • Manage, oversee, and optimize facility to maintain quality output and meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure that all required training is being conducted timely and recorded to meet OSHA and other regulatory agencies requirements.
  • Maintain a safe facility and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Hire, train, and effectively manage both supervisory and hourly personnel as well as effectively utilize temporary workers to meet business demand.
  • Help drive and champion employee morale as a key performance metric to minimize employee turnover and absenteeism.
  • Communicate and maintain adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience / Competencies:

  • Four-year degree required
  • Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics to benchmark and track performance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A strong track record of success in people leadership including attracting, developing, and retaining industry leading talent
  • Experience with Lean process improvement a plus

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree preferred (Business with a focus on Production/Operations)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing facility
  • High level of personal and professional integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to delivery on key initiatives and metrics
  • Self-confidence and comfortable managing business issues and conflict by facilitating key stakeholders to agree upon best resolution to resolve conflict
