Job description

Project Executive
Setterlin Building Company is seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead, support, and develop our Project Managers while providing executive-level oversight across multiple commercial construction projects.
This is an operations leadership role for someone who understands how to guide project teams, establish accountability, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Setterlin's quality standards. Rather than managing the day-to-day details of one project, the Project Executive will oversee multiple Project Managers and help them successfully lead their assigned projects from award through final completion.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, manage, and mentor Project Managers across multiple commercial construction projects
  • Establish clear expectations and hold project leadership accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and contract performance
  • Coach Project Managers through operational challenges while supporting their professional growth and decision-making
  • Regularly review project progress, cost projections, schedules, billing, cash flow, risks, and overall financial performance
  • Ensure project teams have the appropriate staffing, manpower, equipment, materials, and resources
  • Help identify project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation and corrective-action plans are implemented
  • Support Project Managers with owner contracts, subcontracts, change orders, claims, and other contractual matters
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project partners
  • Understand client goals, proactively address concerns, and help project teams develop effective solutions
  • Promote consistency, collaboration, accountability, and best practices across project teams
  • Provide project updates and performance reports to the Chief Operating Officer and other stakeholders
  • Support business development efforts and represent Setterlin professionally with current and prospective clients

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Project Executive or in a comparable commercial construction leadership role
  • Extensive commercial construction project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple Project Managers and project teams
  • A successful track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, risk management, quality, and safety
  • Strong financial acumen and experience reviewing budgets, forecasts, cost reports, billing, and cash flow
  • Ability to coach others, establish accountability, and make sound operational decisions
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Stable employment history demonstrating reliability, leadership, and long-term commitment
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and active construction-site environments
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to visit project sites throughout Central and Southern Ohio
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project and client meetings

If you are an experienced construction leader who enjoys developing Project Managers, strengthening project teams, and driving consistent operational performance, we would like to hear from you.
