Product Support Analyst – Aerospace

Job Description

This role serves as a customer-facing Product Support Analyst (PSA) embedded onsite with a key aerospace and defense customer in the Denver, Colorado area. You will act as the primary supportability liaison between the customer and engineering, logistics, and program teams based in Ohio. In this position, you support critical aircraft systems and sustainment programs, influence design and lifecycle decisions, and build strong relationships with highly technical customer organizations. The role is ideal for a technically minded professional who communicates clearly, learns complex systems quickly, and collaborates effectively with engineering and program teams. Extensive training, mentoring, and ongoing support are provided for individuals with strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Supportability Point of Contact (POC) for a major aerospace and defense customer, representing the organization’s product support capabilities onsite.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer engineering, maintenance, and program management teams to ensure effective collaboration and trust.
  • Perform Product Support Analysis (PSA), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), and supportability assessments to evaluate maintenance concepts, repair strategies, and lifecycle support requirements for aircraft systems.
  • Develop maintenance concepts, support strategies, and sustainment recommendations using PSA and LSA methodologies to optimize system readiness and lifecycle cost.
  • Develop and utilize computer-based models to conduct logistics analysis, functional evaluations, and maintenance planning activities in support of customer programs.
  • Review engineering drawings, schematics, mechanical designs, specifications, and technical documentation to identify supportability impacts and maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and collaborate with product development teams to provide supportability-focused recommendations and feedback.
  • Communicate analysis results, findings, and recommendations clearly and professionally to engineering leadership, program managers, and customer stakeholders.
  • Identify support resources, maintenance requirements, and sustainment strategies necessary to maintain system readiness and meet customer performance objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal subject matter experts, engineering teams, and logistics personnel in Ohio to address customer needs and support program deliverables.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously while adapting to changing customer requirements and program schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Function as a trusted onsite representative, building credibility with highly technical customer and engineering organizations through professionalism and technical competence.
  • Support the development of maintenance plans, maintenance strategies, sustainment concepts, and maintenance procedures for aircraft systems and related equipment.
  • Utilize logistics product data software and relational databases, as applicable, to support analysis, reporting, and maintenance planning activities.
  • Contribute to lifecycle sustainment planning, supportability engineering efforts, and logistics planning activities for aerospace and defense programs.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or a related field; relevant military maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with engineering, maintenance, and program stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technical teams, and customer stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, mechanical designs, schematics, or technical documentation.
  • Strong written communication and report-writing skills, including the ability to present analysis results and recommendations clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for analysis, documentation, and presentations.
  • Ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly and apply analytical problem-solving skills to supportability and logistics challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to Ohio for the first two weeks of employment to complete onboarding, training, and program familiarization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Active or previous Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience in the aerospace, aviation, or defense industry.
  • Former Air Force or other military maintenance background supporting aircraft or related systems.
  • Experience developing maintenance plans, maintenance strategies, sustainment concepts, or maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with lifecycle sustainment, supportability engineering, and logistics planning for complex systems.
  • Experience working with relational databases to manage logistics or supportability data.
  • Familiarity with logistics product data software, including tools such as SLICwave.
  • Experience utilizing computer-based models to evaluate maintenance concepts, logistics requirements, and supportability performance.
  • Previous experience supporting military aircraft, aerospace systems, defense programs, or related sustainment activities.
  • Exposure to military aircraft systems, drawing and schematic reading, and mechanical design engineering concepts.
  • Experience with technical documentation, report writing, and customer experience in a technical environment.
  • Eligibility or background that could support obtaining higher-level clearances, such as DoD Top Secret, as program needs evolve.

Work Environment

The primary work location is a customer facility in the Denver, Colorado area, where you will be embedded daily within customer engineering and program teams. You will collaborate closely with a team located in Ohio, including engineering, logistics, and program personnel, through regular communication and coordination. During the first two weeks of employment, you will travel to Ohio for onboarding, training, and program familiarization, receiving extensive mentoring and support from experienced subject matter experts. After onboarding, travel requirements are minimal, with potential hybrid flexibility based on customer needs and performance in the role. The environment centers on critical aircraft systems and military sustainment programs, offering long-term program stability and strong growth potential.
