Job description

This role is responsible for accurately weighing, blending, and documenting raw materials used in the production of cosmetic or personal care products. The Compounding Technician operates mixing equipment, follows batch instructions and standard operating procedures, maintains a clean and safe work area, and supports quality and productivity goals in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Verify all raw materials and chemicals before addition to a batch.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and compound ingredients according to batch records and approved formulas.
  • Closely follow compounding instructions, SOPs, work instructions, and GMP requirements.
  • Document all required information on batch records, logs, and related production paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Operate, clean, and sanitize compounding equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
  • Monitor mixing and blending processes and report any deviations, quality concerns, or equipment issues to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe compounding area.
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Support inventory control activities, material handling, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years of blending or compounding experience in a cosmetic, personal care, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow batch records, SOPs, safety procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to document and maintain accurate production records.
  • Basic math and measurement skills for weighing and batching materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with inventory control systems or RF scanning preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual accuracy, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Dress and safety requirements:
  • Good hygiene standards. Frequent hand washing. Covering of all open body hair.
  • No loose or hanging clothing or jewelry. Legs must be covered. Work pants or jeans preferred.
  • Must wear hairnets, beard covers, and disposable glove while in packing area
  • Work in noisy environment - ear protection required
  • Safety shoes/boots required

Working conditions
Work Hours:
  • Position operates on 12-hour shifts.
  • Overtime may be required based on business demands.

Work Environment:
