OverviewThis position will entail all activities associated with an Oncology infusion center pharmacy technician, compounding hazardous medications, and additional responsibilities of replenishing Emergency Department stock through utilization of Automated Dispensing CabinetsResponsibilities

Knowledge: Understanding of Pharmacy practice, federal & state laws, pharmacology with an emphasis on antineoplastic therapies, Basic concepts of investigational drug therapy and the pharmacist's role in providing and managing investigational therapies, Understanding the role and usefulness or various national standards such as those from the NCCN, ASCO, ONS, Chest Guidelines,

Skills: Competency and familiarity with various computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Also, the ability to quickly learn or have a working knowledge of common EMR systems used such as Varian/Aria and Cerner systems. The ability to prepare medications as ordered either by compounding or in a USP Chapter 797/800 clean room along with supervising and directing others in the preparation of the same

Work Environment: Pharmacy with a USP Chapter 797/800 clean room suit including a hazardous drug preparation area with a Biological Safety Cabinet, a non-hazardous clean room and an anti-room. Sufficient workstations to allow for the review and processing of pharmacy orders. Pharmacy with storage areas for all medications and supplies, hazardous and non-hazardous, and controlled substances.

Qualifications
