Manufacturing Engineer

Duties and responsibilities

• Develop and implement process operations and routing for parts and assemblies.
• Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on a daily basis to produce high quality products
• Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximum production.
• Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.
• Identify unsafe operations and practices and work to remedy immediately.
• Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.
• Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
• Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
• Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
• Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
• Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
• Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quantity and reliability.
• Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.
• Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.

Qualifications:

• B. S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
• 1 - 3 years previous experience in a production engineering setting
• Working knowledge in using Solidworks and AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably utilizing Epicor 9/10 or equivalent ERP system
• Prior experience in an engineer to order manufacturing environment a plus
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Must be self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and have strong initiative
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and office environment
