Distribution Supervisor

Hiring a Distribution Manager in The Bronx! This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity working with a reputable consumer goods company with over $80m in revenue. The Distribution Manager reports into the Plant Manager and plays a key role in managing and improving logistics as the company continues to expand nationally and secures additional contracts. Responsibilities

• Dispatching of all Trucks & Vans; assist in the scheduling of outbound finished goods loads. Including retailers (Walmart, Target, etc…)
• Communicates with all customers,  vendors, and internal staff to ensure logistics are on par with daily distribution schedules.
• Assist in the organization of independent shipment for out of state distributors (Kehe, UNFI, etc..)
• Maintain Excel file on back orders.
• Maintain telephone log for complaints.
• Work closely with production personnel to maintain accurate inventory levels of manufactured goods.
• Work with sales, accounts receivables, and operations on the logistics of day-to-day distributions seeking strategies to improve current system.
• Assist in the selection of merchandise for shipment.
• Assist in checking distribution loads leaving and returning to dock, ensuring all goods and services are properly logged and accounted for.
• Assist in ensuring dock area and returning van/trucks are properly cleaned and maintained on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 yrs experience in a Manager/Supervisory role.
• Strong communication & customer service skills (written/oral).
• Team  Building & Time Management Skills
• Intermediate PC skills including Excel.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
