SUMMARY
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that drive continuous improvement and maximize productivity and efficiency to reduce overall costs. As the DCM this position must be knowledgeable in all facets of distribution operations. Distribution Center Manager will drive organizational efficiency, be familiar with SKU and Barcode Technology and systems, transportation and logistics and insure inventory coordination and accuracy. This position will directly supervise inventory control procedures and process and maintain accountability. Distribution Center Manager is responsible to administer and maintain safety programs and protocol as well as records of Power Industrial Lift Truck operational standards and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position will provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team who together provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers (HVAC contractors, Dealers, internal associates, etc.)
  • Directs achievement of performance objectives related to safety, training, quality, delivery, employee morale and cost.
  • Supervises the performance of all tasks involved in the shipment, receiving workflow, picking and outbound workflow as well as the requisition and storage of materials, supplies and equipment into and from warehouse.
  • Lead operational efforts aimed at maintaining accurate inventory throughout the supply channel.
  • Monitors workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and take corrective action.
  • Ensures procedures are established, implemented and adhered to by all team members.
  • Collaborates to improve the overall product supply operation, performance, and to maximize overall operational efficiencies.
  • Ensures quality and inspection process is accurate and excess costs are eliminated.
  • Maintain discipline in use of forklifts (maintenance, speed control etc.) along with safety of all equipment
  • Ensure all storage equipment is maintained and inspected according to company and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure a continuous stream of talent to sustain organizational/department growth and improve operations by attracting, retaining, and developing team members to meet their needs for career growth.
