Job description

Job Purpose:
To provide leadership in the Distribution Center and provide support to all other Distribution Centers. To direct and manage all the daily functions of running a profitable distribution center including the following: sales, budgets, inventory control, personnel, building maintenance, store administration and new business. This position is accountable for the Profit & Loss for its location and contributes to the overall profits of the district and company.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct operational activities for the Distribution Center

  • Develop and manage annual Distribution Center budget to ensure profitability

  • Direct day to day operations for the Inside Sales Professionals, Warehouse and Delivery personnel

  • Responsible for Performance Management and PTO

  • Work with sales staff to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining acceptable profit margins

  • Responsible for Distribution Center's Inventory, from daily cycle counts to annual Physical Inventory and partner with Inventory group as needed

  • Supply Credit department with customer information to aid in collections

  • Develop relationships with TMs and customers to insure customer satisfaction

  • Identify prospective/future customers through store or phone sales and communicate prospects to sales team (Territory Managers or Account Executives)

  • Develop long term business relationships with our customers to help promote sales growth and gain acceptance.

  • Hold monthly team meetings

  • Coordinate building maintenance and security

  • Coordinate training classes for customers and employees with Tech Services

  • In conjunction with G&A group, responsible for internal audit reports

  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs

  • May perform similar job responsibilities as ISP and Warehouse Manager

  • Participate in after hours On Call Schedule and Training Classes

  • Work cooperatively with others

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; lay on the floor; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee may work in environments as cold as 20 degrees or as hot as 105 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
In addition to possessing the skills necessary to perform these duties and responsibilities, the employee must be willing and able to demonstrate these skills through regular and reliable physical attendance. All the physical demands and tasks described in these Job Duties and Responsibilities are the essential functions of this job. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of management skills

  • 3-5 years HVAC experience

  • 3-5 years customer service experience

  • 3-5 years warehouse/distribution experience

  • Proficient computer skills in MS office

  • Forklift training

  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office

  • Possess a valid driver's license

  • Possess a satisfactory driving record as determined by Company Driver Policies

  • Qualify for and remain insurable under Company liability insurance policy

  • Qualify under federal and state regulations to drive the vehicle in question

Travel Requirement:
  • Up to 20% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
