The Macon County Mental Health Board, located in Decatur, IL, is seeking a motivated, organized individual who enjoys helping others and wants to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families. The position of Service Coordinator for Child & Family Connections #19 is a full-time position providing service coordination/case management for children and their families in the CFC #19 region (Clark, Coles, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt and Shelby Counties).
The Service Coordinator facilitates the progress of children and their families through intake, evaluation, eligibility determination, the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) process, and review of progress as part of the Early Intervention (EI) service system. The Service Coordinator maintains a case load and conducts home visits to meet with families. The individual must have reliable transportation, as Service Coordinators use their personal vehicle for travel and are reimbursed for mileage at a rate equivalent to the IRS mileage rate. This is a fast-paced position, funded by the State of Illinois, with a focus on deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, speech, early childhood education, special education or related field which include course work in child development (required by the State of Illinois; cannot be substituted for experience)
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certification/credentialing
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and ethical conduct skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with infants/families, paraprofessionals, and specialists
- Effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet time frames and deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge of basic computer functioning and accessing a database
- Maintain confidentiality
- Valid IL driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable means of transportation
- Experience in Service Coordination and Early Intervention or Early Childhood preferred
