Position Summary:

Responsible for the accounting and treasury operations of multiple campus locations, to include the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of the company’s reported financial results in accordance with GAAP.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and enter journal entries and complete general ledger account reconciliations.  Prepare and enter month end accrual journal entries.
  • Monitor bank accounts, enter bank transactions, prepare bank reconciliations, and prepare cash forecasts.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices, matching with purchase orders and verifying proof of delivery.  Review, approve, and record expense reimbursements. Research vendor inquiries. Maintain expense source documents.  Prepare purchase orders after receipt of approval of management.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and may file annual personal property tax returns.
  • May record and review month end revenue and bad debt for multiple campus locations. 
  • Review expenses, inventory, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts for one or more entities during month end close.
  • May maintain fixed asset database and record depreciation and amortization of fixed assets. 
  • Assist with annual financial audit by preparing and assembling auditor information requests.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll, record all payroll related journal entries, and reconcile all payroll related balance sheet accounts. 
  • Document processes and suggest process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide data analysis and financial reports as requested by Campus Presidents or Corporate Accounting Management.
  • Adhere to the accounting requirements, policies, and deadlines set forth by Corporate Accounting Management.
  • Complies with all regulatory standards, internal control procedures and GAAP accounting rules. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Accounting Management.

Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in related field (accounting/finance) required; minimum 7 years accounting experience, through education and experience a thorough understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency. Experience with MicroSoft Dynamics and SAP Concur software is preferred.

People Responsibilities:  There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Physical Environment:

  • Position is remote except for one weekday in the corporate office which is optional.
  • May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • May use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment.
