Intermountain Electronics, Inc., is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for our Centralia, IL facility.

Mechanical Assembly Technicians are involved in the installation and assembly of items that our Electrical Technicians are not, such as: install cable trays, cut, bend and install buss bar, hang doors/siding, install specialty components, assemble and attach electrical components/devices on electrical equipment such as E-houses, LACT units, metering skids, switch gear, capacitor banks, MCC houses, control centers, etc.

You will Assemble:

* Install a variety of electrical equipment and component devices such as: cable trays, conduit, brackets, pipe hangers, assembly mounts for HVAC units, pumps, etc.

* Measure, cut and bend buss bar for specific projects

* Insulate buildings and hang doors, install siding

* Assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment.

* Follow quality process in checking procedures and equipment to verify mechanical integrity of units

* Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly

* Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications

* Perform basic troubleshooting duties as required and diagnose cause of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and make necessary repairs

* Perform installations compliant with current regulations and customer specifications

* Responsible for assigned project completion, quality and delivery according to work schedule

You Will Use:

* Various hand tools - wrenches, screw driver, utility knife, etc.

* Use overhead crane, forklift, hoists, to assist in mechanical assembly and moving materials/projects

* Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift

* May operate sand blaster

* Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time

* Follow and comply with IE safety program. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times

Our products include portable power/generators, substations, electrical control rooms (MCC's/VFD's/switchgear), water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, and other products used in the energy, oil and gas, and mining sectors.



* High School Diploma plus one year experience working as a skilled laborer in heavy industrial manufacturing operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ability to read and understand basic wiring schematics and layout diagrams.

* Experience with various hand tools.

* Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.

* Confident with the ability to work closely with other technicians and management while keeping production flowing and meeting due dates

* Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results in mechanical assemblies, siding of buildings, installing cable trays and components and continual attention to quality and detail in the final assembly stage of production.

* Must be detail oriented and committed to producing quality work

* Must be able to get along with co-workers, supervisors, management, etc.
