Field Service Electrical Technician - Gas Turbines

SUMMARY
Provides field service support by performing the duties listed below. The incumbent of this position will be required to occasionally travel with short notice. While this position requires about 60% travel, the candidate must be able to work on-site at our Bloomfield, CT location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities.
- Perform electrical station, performance, and baseplate audits of gas turbines.
- Calibrate SPC controls / speed relays / vibration monitors / pressure & temperature switches/PLCs.
- Repairs electronic circuitry.
- Maintains test equipment calibration.
- Isolate and troubleshoot electrical problems associated with control room and base plate components.
- Removal and installation of Balance of Plant equipment.
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Research and fabricates equipment.
- Verifies test equipment serviceability.
- Oversees job utilizing customer supplied support staff.
- Coordinated travel arrangements for domestica and international site visits.
- Promotes and markets all company products and functions.
- Provides clear and specific details relating to the job while communicating any customer issues with management.
- Makes recommendations to customers on customer supplied materials and/or parts.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Capable of troubleshooting card level components, devices, control interfaces related to gas turbine operations.
- Travel domestic and international, develop travel reports related to job assignments.
- Must be able to read and draft electrical schematics and drawings and troubleshoot card level components, devices, control interfaces related to gas turbine operations.
- Ability to calculate basic to complex mathematical problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school or equivalent, plus one to three years related experience working with gas turbines, free turbines, and site familiarization.
- Pratt & Whitney FT4 experience preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to type, and handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Customer worksites environment may vary. While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee needs to take appropriate measures to limit their exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents, and oils.
