Controller

We are seeking a Controller with NetSuite fluency and manufacturing experience to become an integral part of our team!  You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.  A controller needs to be analytical and one important thing about being a controller in a private company is that they must challenge themselves quite often with new analytical processes.  The biggest thing with a manufacturer is inventory and cost management.  But most of all, the controller, should have an attitude that the company they are working for is their own company and take it personally of how the financials look and be able to explain a monthly story to whoever looks at the reports whether it be the CEO, investors, board, CPA or the banker.   

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and personnel
• Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
• Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
• Conduct internal audits to assess financial status
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors
• Payroll and analysis
• Sales Manager commissions computations
• Accounts Receivable duties
• Invoicing and invoice P&L analysis
• HR duties of health care, 401K and PTO benefits administration

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of previous experience in accounting management or other related fields
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Education:

• BS in Accounting / Finance
• Masters in Accounting / Finance a plus

Software:

• 3-5 years of NetSuite experience and fluency
• NetSuite for Manufacturing experience a plus
• PayChex Payroll system a plus
