About JA-Rocky Mountain

JA-Rocky Mountain is part of the world’s largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. In partnership with schools, businesses, foundations, and the community this regional operation provides programs to students kindergarten through 12th grade and young adults up to age 25 in the Front Range and Wyoming. Position Description
Reporting directly to the Senior Volunteer Manager, this pivotal role puts you at the forefront of JA's mission, orchestrating the dynamic flow of volunteer engagement that fuels our impact! Your focus on volunteer recruitment, placement, training, retention and communication bolsters support for your students and programs.

The Manager of Volunteer Engagement lives and breathes JA’s mission and has a remarkable ability to forge and nurture meaningful relationships, particularly with our corporate partners. The ideal candidate is looking for an exciting journey where every connection you make, every volunteer you inspire, contributes to a brighter future for our youth.

The Role
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with both individuals and corporate volunteer groups
• Ensure JA programs have the necessary number of volunteers for successful implementation
• Communicate closely with corporate volunteer partners to cultivate a mutually beneficial partnership
• Partner with JA-Rocky Mountain’s development team to build strong relationships with volunteer groups
• Recruit, support, and train volunteers to work with JA students
• Collaborate and problem solve with the programs and development teams
• Assist on special projects or student events
• Travel to JA events throughout the Denver Metro area to support volunteers
• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers and corporate coordinators
• Promote JA programs and volunteer opportunities through tours, presentations, and community outreach
• Participate and take initiative in the planning, organization, and implementation of goals associated with the overall JA mission and vision

Qualifications:
• Passion and enthusiasm for working with and engaging young people
• Passion for JA’s mission demonstrated by volunteerism and/or previous work experience
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to develop and strengthen relationships with current and prospective stakeholders
• Strong sales and communication skills (verbal and written) to engage new volunteers in JA programming
• Ability to manage details of projects, programs, and events, which includes multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
• Outstanding verbal communication skills to inspire teachers and volunteers during both in-person and virtual trainings and small and large group presentations
• Talent for training, motivating, and coaching others, and the ability to support volunteers through challenging situations
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Goal-oriented and will thrive under pressure
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Experience in education, program management, business sales, or related field
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
• Ability to pass required background check

Compensation and Benefits:
• This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $50,000-$65,000
