General Ledger Accountant

Professional Search Group (PSG) is working with a high-end camera manufacturer that recently merged with a large global brand that is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join their growing team. This role will join an established team and have the opportunity to learn and grow into a high-level accountant. The GL Accountant is a great opportunity for someone that is looking for a stable and long-term position on an established team.

Responsibilities:

• Create journal entries and reconcile bank transactions for both domestic and international accounts.
• Manage the cash sub-ledger for all bank accounts.
• Compute and record royalty expenses.
• Maintain prepaid expense records and associated roll-forward schedules.
• Handle credit card account reconciliation and propose necessary journal entries.
• Reconcile 401K match accounts and suggest appropriate journal entries.
• Prepare payroll entries and conduct reconciliations.
• Aid in accruing both recurring and one-time expenses.
• Conduct ad-hoc reviews and analyses when required.
• Offer backup and assistance to the Senior Accountant as necessary.
• Assist in annual external and other audits by preparing required schedules.
• Uphold robust internal controls in accounting processes for accurate financial reporting.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field of study.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, working with the General Ledger.
• Proficiency in Excel is essential.
• Eager to acquire new knowledge and committed to hard work.
• Exceptional focus on detail and precision, oriented towards meeting deadlines, with the ability to prioritize tasks and excel in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Preference for experience with NetSuite or other large ERP systems.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
• Being a CPA or currently pursuing CPA certification is a bonus.
